a.m. Sunday Guestbook

Note from the band: We'd like to offer our heartfelt THANKS to everyone who's ever posted here or is getting ready to post here. Most of the responses are made in jest, but we are all deeply honored that you reached out (or are getting ready to reach out) to offer your encouragements and thoughts. We do this because we love it...but to know that other people love it (or strongly like it) makes it so much better. Thanks! :)

1/16/2007 Lorena Wallace Hm, I don't know if this even gets checked anymore, but Mark used to be my guitar teacher (though he probably doesn't remember me...). You all are amazing. At everything. Good luck. Also, I moved to Seattle. Is there a place I can buy the CD online?
12/28/2006 louisville girl I heard you guys for the first time ever the other night at the Rud... w. o. w.
9/25/2006 Jonathan Tatus Hey y'all. Remember me? I was working with the very talented Jeremy M. Williams and his dance company back in 2003 right before I moved to Atlanta. During that time, Jeremy exposed me to much of your fantastic music. I fell in love with one song in particular titled "The Letter" (if memory serves). How would I go about getting a recording of it and/or a copy of it on paper? If I offer to do a keyboard arrangement, would you share the chart for free?
7/14/2006 Michael C. Just bought your cd and I can't stop listening to it....
a.m. Sunday Thanks for buying our cd! Double thanks for loving it!!!! IMHO your's is the greatest compliment we could receive.

5/15/2005 Karen Grant Darrick: Enjoyed the site, your dad told us about AM Sunday. I think it is great that you have such talent. PS I am Kim Lott's mom...
Not Darrick What to say? It's true...so true. (The part about Darrick's talent...I have no idea whether or not you are really Kim Lott's mom.)
2/1/2005 erika Am Sunday is amazing- though I have only seen you a couple of times I can't wait to buy the cd...of course anything with Ray Rizzo must be good!;) He is on almost every local cd available!

11/19/2004 ryan herrold HA! I found you. Hi Darrick and Suki
a.m. Sunday Send us an e-mail (via webmaster@amsunday.com). We'd like to hear from you!
9/8/2004 Darcy Yes, I'm back again. I hope I sound eager rather than annoying...when will the live recording of the Jazz Factory concert be available?
a.m. Sunday Darcy...thanks for checking in and asking. We're still trying to get the overall sound of the recording "tweaked"...but it shouldn't be too much longer. Keep checking back for updates.
8/20/2004 Murph Caught the FOX 41 show on TV and I am floored. AWESOME stuff. Ray ,my favorite drummer, you have come a long way from spelling TIT with drumsticks in the St X. marching band. Matt you still kick ass on the bass. Everyone blends so well Reach the top guys you definitly have it.
a.m. Sunday Thanks Murph!!! Of the numerous stunts that Ray pulled in high school...you picked one of the more subdued ones. :) Thankfully he's perfected the ability to communicate using drumsticks...but now at a much deeper level. Is that too corny? Somebody stop me.
8/6/2004 Matt in STL Oh, and safe travels on the way to NYC. Push On Up!
a.m. Sunday Thanks Matt!
8/6/2004 Matt in STL Thanks for the grooves and getting me through the bar exam. Hope to see you next time I'm back home in the Lou. I've heard great stories about the shows. Can't wait to feel it for myself.
a.m. Sunday Thanks Matt! Congrats on getting through the bar exam...and it's good to know that our music helped in some way. Maybe you wrote new bar-exam-related lyrics to our songs and sung them to yourself while taking the exam?
7/21/2004 Nicole (fish) "ROCKIN DRUMMER" WHAT UP AM SUNDAY?? You all KICK! Keep on rockin, i just wanted to say hey to my homies in AM Sunday! *Rock out Ray. *DARRICK YOUR MY HERO!!
Darrick Thanks for leaving the note, Nicole. Keep rockin' out, but STAY IN SCHOOL! Cuz nobody likes a musician who don't got nuthin in their brane.
Ray Word, Homecheese! We leave again tomorrow on the Highway To Hell, because you know it's a long way to the top if you wanna funk-diddly-doo. Sorry we couldn't rawk out more before school kicks in fo' reel doh. Look for the DNR band opening future a.m. Sunday jams. Woooo!
7/15/2004 Ken Hamilton Going places
a.m. Sunday Thanks Ken "Lupe' Sr." Hamilton. :)
7/13/2004 Darcy You all were brilliant at the concert last night! I can't wait to get that CD!
a.m. Sunday Wow! Thanks Darcy (a double-poster...I believe)! Hopefully you had as much fun as we did at the Jazz Factory!!! Keep an eye on the website for updates on the "bootleg" cd. :)
7/11/2004 Ashley Hey..I really loved the songs I listened to. If I had some transportation, I would come out to The Jazz Factory. Keep playing.. you all sound really great.
a.m. Sunday Thanks Ashley! Hope you can make it to a show sometime soon! Keep an eye on our shows page and/or sign up for our e-mail list.
7/6/2004 Darcy Gotta love that Ray Rizzo! :) I might check you all out at the Jazz Factory next week. Thanks again for playing at our benefit concert!
Ray Aw, gurl ... after seeing you work it in Antigua I know you just love me for my drum!
6/29/2004 Matt F Just caught you all on Live Lunch. I'm blown away. Totally dig All the People. Nice site, and really nice music page. See you guys at the Jazz Factory. Cheers!
a.m. Sunday Thanks Matt F!!
5/19/2004 H. C. M. I've been looking in all the usual spots...row 10...the Sabarro... I told you that to get out of this parking lot you'd need a psychiatrist, a parts shop, and a wizard. Guess it worked. Good luck on future endeavors - if you make it to any. I'll be watching. -a friend from the road "Success is 98% showing up."
a.m. Sunday Life's funny...when you least expect it you end up at a rest stop on the New Jersey turnpike at 5am...with a busted pulley...and then out of nowhere the someone shows up and offers all the advice you'd ever need. Not too mention he owns the world's biggest umbrella.
5/16/2004 TARC rider Your song Bus Driver, refers to "another ghost is coming into my DMZ affliction." So... any hints as to what that's all about? I'm dying to know!
a.m. Sunday

The thrill of someone listening close enough to ask the meaning of a lyric is intense enough to ALMOST make me want to divulge the meaning I get from it, but I don't want to ruin it for people who have their own idea.

Um, so here it is. DMZ means "Darrick Must Zoom". This may sound funny and even exciting the first time it's mumbled through the darkness in the back of the van during a late night ride through the heartland. But the longer you're exposed to it, the more you hear it everywhere - on street corners, in the Pic Pak - and it breaks you down. darrick. must. zoom. It is a burden the band bravely endures because we knew going in that everything was going to change, that the ride was not going to drop us off in the same place we left from. If some of us had known what was going to happen to us, we might not have got on in the first place, but here we are: travelling many miles an hour without armor through a world that sometimes requires such things. This might be a place of safety, always a place of beauty. Then in some quiet moment, the words... Were they spoken by the person next to you or are you hearing them in the wind? No matter. They are what you are hearing. This is the affliction. And it comes with awful new-found wisdom: knowing in our hearts that, despite the sometimes untellable consequences, it is true: Darrick Must Zoom.

And so must you.

5/14/2004 Mooger Fooger I miss you, Matt. Why did you leave me? I think about you all the time.
Matt You're all I talked about and all I thought about from the moment we met...I promise that our time apart will be short...alas not short enough. I literally can't wait to gaze upon your knobs and buttons once again. Bob Moog is a genius!
5/5/2004 Jordan Knight Did any of you see my pommade? Ah! Gotcha! I don't USE the stuff! Suk it.
a.m. Sunday ?
5/5/2004 numba1 new york fan i'm sweet on darrick wood.
a.m. Sunday
(minus Darrick, of course)
Is there anyone in this world who isn't?
5/2/2004 Tara Hughes Saw you guys this am at Lynn's. You guys kick ass! Got your web address as you were packing up (black leather jacket girl w/ my friend). We'll come see you again for sure.
a.m. Sunday Finally! Some props for our skills in the under-appreciated science of ass - how to kick it, how to shake it, how to show it, etc.... Thanks, Tara. Lynn's was the perfect ending to a week of Derby thrills - good thing you had the jacket, no? We'll see you and your friend the next time then, no? Mauriece likes much cream in his coffee, no? This reply has gone on too long, no?
4/22/2004 Josephine Suki, hello from the midwest! XOX0X
4/22/2004 Amanda There are a lot of nice compliments on here that'll be hard to top, but here goes... Jordan Knight's got NOTHING on you guys!
a.m. Sunday If that's true, it's only because of...
4/21/2004 Dion Just happen to come across you all on TV last night and needless to say, Your music is a breath of fresh air. And to see you're from the Ville makes me proud.. Keep it coming, you have a Fan for life out here @ Fort Knox.
a.m. Sunday Wow!!! What do we say other than...THANKS DION!!!! Keep checking back and don't forget about our mailing list! And if any show opportunities arise in Ft. Knox, let us know via band@amsunday.com. Thanks!
4/12/2004 traci :) The website looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved all the songs debuted in the Rythms of Life collaboration. Deep and soulful.
Ray wow. Thank you, Madame T..... I didn't know how you felt! (Yes I did.) The band is happy that after you endured us working on the music for weeks in the basement that you still enjoyed it! (I know it must have sounded different when it wasn't coming up through the heating vents.) Did you hear the one line in that one song? I wrote it about you.
3/30/2004 Avril Lavigne I saw the band photo on the front page of your website and I have a question. Why does the guy with the big eyebrows look so angry?
a.m. Sunday

Ray always has to go and make things so complicated...

Here's a link to the original picture, he looked worse before we did some heavy retouching.

2/10/2004 TC Do you have and idea of how long you'll play at O'malley's or how many songs you might perform? Thanks
a.m. Sunday TC...We'll be playing right around a 20 minute set...hopefully 5 songs. Thanks!
2/1/2004 Val and Jerry Wow! Our baby is a star! Great music. We loved hearing AND seeing all of you perform. Thanks and keep on a truckin'...
Suki You are cute! Thank you for your unending support!
1/29/2004 Matt M Awesome show on KET...my first exposure to AM Sunday. When might you guys play a gig in Cincinnati? Love to see you live.
a.m. Sunday Thanks Matt M! We'd love to play in Cinncinnatti! If you have any tips for clubs, etc., let us know via band@amsunday.com.
1/27/2004 Tony Bahr Hey Maurice and gang. I love the music, keep it comin. Hope to see you guys playing again soon. As soon as I am in louisville again.
a.m. Sunday Thanks Tony Bahr! We have several shows we're working on putting together...just keep checking our shows page for info!
1/24/2004 minathanyou Your music's real good and, wow, is that lady singer HOT....
a.m. Sunday Official Statement: While the band does realize that certain of its members are "hot" we do feel that everyone in the band has a strong inner beauty that shouldn't go unnoticed...ah screw it...we all have to fight with the fact that Mauriece is the one everyone is looking at...so it's good for someone else to be singled out. You go girl!!!
1/20/2004 Kim C You guys are fantastic!!!!!!Keep the music coming!!!!!!
a.m. Sunday Thanks Kim C! "Keep the music coming!"...You said it...and we plan to make it happen!
1/3/2004 Hip n happnin So when are you guys releasing the full-length studio opus? For what your band has to offer, I need more than just a Taste!
a.m. Sunday We're glad you're diggin' Taste. Our plan is to start working on a full length recording in late January. If all goes well, it'll be available in late Spring!
12/22/2003 Dixie Here a lot about you guys on wfpk and around cresent hill. Checked it out for myself and I love what your doing. keep it goin
a.m. Sunday Yow! Thanks Dixie!
11/23/2003 Charles Albert Bailey II What’s the first thing you notice about someone? His or her smile, of course. A great smile reflects on your appearance, confidence and professionalism.I'm not overweight, but I noticed a huge diffrence after just two weeks of A.M. Sunday. I have more energy, and have just received a promotion at work. Thanks A.M. Sunday.
a.m. Sunday Folks we get this all the time. Through a patented formula (patent pending) of booty-shakin' grooves and sweet sultry sounds a.m. Sunday has changed the lives of countless people! Call today and order! (a.m. Sunday is not tested on any animals.)
9/12/2003 the Phil-ster a.m. Sunday is a sexy feast for my ears! As Darrick so succinctly puts it, "in the wake of your shake i'm impressed now."
a.m. Sunday Translated: Two thumbs up for the song Sexy Feast (track #5 on Taste).
